Classy Lady.

Audrey Hepburn is the epitome of classy.  She is by far the loveliest human being ever to have graced the movie screen.  One can be quite flabbergasted by her unique beauty.  Her dashing bold brows, grand eyes, defined lips...she on other words was a beautiful sculpture of a woman.  Everything she did was done with a grace so fluent it filled our bones with love.  Her quick smile would leave any man breathless.  She is someone who has touched and changed lives.  The style in which she created a trademark for all women:  The famous Audrey Flat, which is a round black ballet flat with a thin bow at the front.  This woman inspired millions, even though she has passed she will remain an icon for years to come.  Audrey Hepburn is a name that soothes your soul when spoken of.

What is beauty?

For a long aspect of our lives we have been fed images of what perfection and beauty is (the physical aspect of course!).  That defined jawline, those plump lips, the withering stare, the dewy skin.  It's all there, all of it is true -no lie-.  We get caught up in all this beauty somewhat could be called a God like craving. People spend hours, days, years trying to reach that perfection yet they still ask for more.  There are people who are just breathtakingly beautiful and somehow they don't feel what our eyes capture.  They have this urge, this unnecessary need to change who they are so the rest of the population can see BEAUTY.  When in fact, they looked better in the before photo than in the after.  Why the need?! You're amazing just the way you are (Yes! I'm quoting Bruno Mars).

Take a look at me, I used cover up insecurities I held inside with strokes from a brush.  Now, I don't even do my eyes...I just put mascara on and presto! eyes done.  You can see it all through the runways from Paris to Milan to New York.  People who have mastered the art of what is beauty have gone back to their roots.  They are giving a new salute to the natural and the strong.  To the people who believe in themselves and believe in the beauty the possess.

Let this new year that is days away be the perfect chance to reinvent yourself in someway.

Casual Thursday.

I went to my best friend's house this thursday to bake Christmas Cookies.  She surprised me and made me some Nutella Raviolis (it's a dessert, they're much more like dumplings).  The only thing you need to know is that they are like ecstasy, just purely amazing.  They are very simple to make (Yes I'm giving you the recipe :) )...here it goes: You take one won tong wrapper and brush some egg wash on the edges.  Take one small scoop of the nutella and place it in the middle.  Now you take one edge of the won tong and press it to the opposite edge making a little triangle.  Seal it by taking a fork and pressing it down through the edges.  Now the easy part...dunk it in a hot pot filled with oil and cook it for 10 to 15 seconds on each side.  Once they size up and get golden take them out of the pot and place them under a paper towel to get rid of the excess oil and PRESTO you're done.  If you want to make them more fancy dandy (which I suggest you do) sprinkle some white sugar powder on the Raviolis. :)

Since I gave you the food aspect of my day here's the style aspect.  I was searching through tumblr and saw some images of Kate Bosworth and how she dresses up and down (by down I mean casual).  Everything she does is effortlessly chic, just simply amazing.  Even though she is a natural beauty it still leaves me in awe how beautiful one can be just with a simple white tee.  I got inspired by her casual looks that made me get a bit creative with a simple white tee.  I grabbed my favorite boyfriend shorts and rolled them up (since they're more like bermudas than shorts), put a cognag belt on with the tshirt underneath the ensemble.  I topped it up with a striped cardigan and my black combat boots.  I feel as if one has to put a bit of effort into the styling choices we make.  Since style does reflect on how we portray things, how we feel and who we are.

Chanel Rouge Coco

A few months ago I saw this ad for Chanel's new beauty line called Rouge Coco.  The image is breathtakingly beautiful.  It stars Vanessa Paradis in this white almost creme skin dress, her hair is gently done in an updo with few strands in her face to make her look more appealing and real.  The makeup is done flawlessly.  The face is a gentle pale, with a simmered down smokey brown eye and a beautiful rose colored lip.  Her expression is relaxed to embody the Chanel image.  The Chanel woman is one who is sure of herself, one who is classy, adores life's simplicities, also we can't leave out that the Chanel woman is a classic fashionista at heart.

Seeing this ad inspired me to do a beauty shot that would embody the same effortless beauty that is seen there.  The face is done with minimal makeup, just your basic foundation, a bit of loose powder, a pale pink based blush and the finishing touch is a matte rose lipstick.  The trick is to not swipe it on but to dab it on.  It gives a more relaxed and natural lip color.
